About the Event
This Regatta is for the benefit of the American Cancer Society in memory of Stephen C. Smith. Stephen was a Hobie Sailor who died from a rare form of leukemia at the age of 29. Since its inception, the Steven C. Smith Memorial Regatta has been able to contribute over $670,000, the majority of which has stayed in Leon, Wakulla and other Big Bend Counties, providing educational programs & patient services to area residents. The Regatta is put on by the 52nd Stephen C. Smith Memorial Regatta Committee, whose members are from the Apalachee Bay Yacht Club and the Shell Point Sailboard Club with support of numerous local businesses and individuals. There is onsite camping available for Tents and RV's, as well as some near by motels. There will be Windsurfers to large monohull sailboats, and everything in between, including Weta Trimarans which will have their own committee boat and…
