Handle on SS wires
Hey mates!
Once SS shrouds are built, is there a way to add the handles to the wires?
Thanks,
Bob

Looking for a ride in the Pacific Northwest. I'm 69 and would like to take a couple of spins around a body of water to see if I could comfortably hand one of these. I have racing experience and have owned dingies and small monohulls.
Many thanks! Just learned of the need for a potential operation. should know next Friday.
I bought a Weta (#1297) late last year and am planning to store it on my dock on a lake in upstate NY. There is not spot for beach storage and launching. I don’t want the Weta to be in the water when not in use, so I’m looking for ideas or designs for dry docking the Weta. One option is a JetSki drive-up dock and attach it to the existing dock. Another option is to make a hinged, wood dock section with sufficient flotation for the Weta to be dry when puled up.
Has anyone seen or heard of something like this arrangement? And photos or designs available?
Thank you
Tony
I can't find any good pictures of it, but the Stanford sailing center in Redwood City has a mix of drive-on docks for chase boats paired with low wooden docks with rollers, carpet, and cradles for their 420s. It's pretty slick. The peak waves there are smaller than Seneca Lake on a big day, but otherwise similar to the Finger Lakes.
I know Road King offers two variants of Weta Trailers for skinny and fat tires. Is there another manufacturer available for this style of trailer?
And, is anyone using a modified flatbed-type trailer? I remember seeing someone out west building a small flat bed trailer.
I currently have a RK with the skinny tire setup and looking to upgrade to fat wheels because of soft sand in Florida. Please post pics if you have them!
Thanks! Bob
After I choked on the price of a new delivered galvanized RK Weta trailer, I approached Trailex on an aluminum trailer and found out they had a configuration that works. It’s slightly more expensive than the RK but it will have 12” wheels/tires and be a lot lighter. I should have it by Meigs this year.

Hello Bob and other Weta Sailors RE: Dyneema Standing Rigging & Stretch. This rigging is made by Mike Krantz, owner of Sailmax.biz Phone: 770-403-8710 e-mail: sailmax.biz@gmail.com snail mail: 4050 Enterprise Way Suite 110, Flowery Branch, GA 30542, near Lake Lanier, for the Weta Trimaran. Usually there is flyer in the plastic bag the rigging comes in, (which some of you might throw away, or have lost) stating that you should get the forestay as tight as possible and then re-tighten the forestay after the first sail, if you are going out again. It says the dyneema will stretch about 1/2 inch over the life of the rigging. It also says you can send the rigging back to Mike for re-coating if you notice chafing over time which has worn the Blue/Black Dye off the dyneena standing rigging. The coating came off my dyneema rigging, especially the forestay which should not chafe because the jib hanks are made of cloth, not metal, but chafed more than the shrouds. I sent my dyneema rigging back to Mike for re-coating after the Meigs Regatta. He re-coated the dyneema rigging, shipped it back to me, and it looks like new now. That probably added at least a year to the life of my dyneema rigging. -- Rick
