About the Event
Most classes including Weta Trimarans will launch from Shell Point Beach Park, 119 Beaty - Taff Drive, Drive, Crawfordville, Wakulla County, Florida. Shell Point Beach is the nearest Beach on the Gulf of Mexico to Tallahassee, Florida. All proceeds from the: Regatta, Auction, Regatta Sponsors and individual donations will go to the American Cancer Society. The Regatta is named after a Hobie Sailor who died of a rare form of Leukemia, February 16, 1974, at the age of 29. The Smith Regatta is put on every year to honor the life of Stephen C. Smith and other sailors who we have lost to this dreaded disease called cancer. The Smith Regatta is put on as a joint venture by: The Stephen C. Smith Memorial Regatta Foundation (SCSMR), The Shell Point Sailboard Club (SPSC) and the Apalachee Bay Yacht Club (ABYC). On January 2, 2026 We lost Wright Finney, a Windsurfer,…
