Continuous screecher furlers, what do you use?

    in Technical Advice

    Hello Weta peeps!

I'm helping a friend upgrade his 2010 Weta. The current style screecher furler is the original Harken small boat drum and he would like to use a continuous system. The new 2020 Ronstan system is quite pricey and we are looking for alternatives. What are you running?

    Thanks,

I don't know who made my sail #523 Weta's furler. I like it very much. I think it is a KZ. (NOTE; The KZ website is flagged by Norton as dangerous). It looks like a simpler, cheaper copy of a SeaSure jib furler with the Infinity swivel. Harken makes one like it, too. I have to agree with your dissatisfaction of the infamous Harken 163 drum furler. It can ruin sails when it becomes hung by flogging them to death before you can grab control of the runway rag.
